China Denies Cyber Attacks

To many people it is really not a shock that China has been pointed to as the cause of the recent cyberattacks on over 140 American businesses and government buildings. It is also not a shock that China has denied having anything to do with the attacks. In a recent report put together by their defense ministry they basically gave this as a defense: "There has been no clear internationally agreed definition for 'cyber attacks',". Basically they are saying that they are not the responsible party only because we cannot say what the clear definition of the attacks would be and because of that we cannot say that it was them doing it, because we don't know what "it" is.

They must take us for idiots. Apparently there have been hundred of terabytes stolen in the attacks. That is a lot of data. A terabyte is 1,000 gigabytes, and we all know how much data we can store in 1 gig. It is ridiculous that China has responded in such a way and I really hope that as a country the United States does something to either clear this up and get to the truth, or punish the Chinese in some way. I do not have all the answers but it does not take a Harvard Professor to see that we are being treated like the playground victim here.
