It has been quite a year for comets, asteroids, and planets. If you think about it, even though I have complained about how little our government does for the space program, the private industry and astronomers have really been busy lately. Kepler has found hundreds if not thousands of possible Earth-like planets, and we have been quite the asteroid magnet of late. Now scientists are predicting that a comet coming around November 2013 will be so bright that it might be seen during the day or be as bright as the moon!
A comet of this type, one that passes close to the Sun is appropriately called a Sungrazer. Now of course for the comet to meet expectations and be as bright as the moon it must be sure to not pass too close to the Sun and get caught in it's extreme gravity! That could end the whole party. If it stays on it's present course and just passes the Sun instead of hitting the Sun, then we could be in for a show. Check out the very informative infographic below for more on this upcoming Sungrazer!
